Course Preview – Welcome and Introduction

Welcome — Let’s Get Started!

Estimated time: Around 30–40 minutes

A Quick Hello and What to Expect

I’m so glad you’re here. Running a business already takes up so much mental space — and marketing often ends up as that never-ending task at the bottom of your list. That’s why this course exists: to help you turn ChatGPT into a true marketing assistant.

This course is designed especially for small business owners — like you — who want to go from feeling overwhelmed by marketing to feeling organised, confident, and equipped with both a plan and an AI assistant who works alongside you.

This is a practical course. No long lectures, no complicated theory. Instead, you’ll learn by doing. Step by step, you’ll build a marketing strategy that fits your business, your style, and your goals.

By the time we finish, you’ll have:

  • A Business summary prompt that introduces your business clearly to ChatGPT.

  • A step-by-step marketing strategy tailored to your goals, resources, and capacity.

  • A 12-month roadmap broken down into monthly and weekly plans.

  • A trained AI Marketing Assistant who knows your business, speaks in your brand voice, and helps you save time.

  • Access to a Bonus Prompt Vault + Bonus Lesson to turn your plan into real content and daily actions.

How the Course Works

The course has 13 lessons plus a Bonus Prompt Vault and Bonus Lesson, divided into four phases:

Phase 1: Build Your Brand & Marketing Strategy Foundation
You’ll answer structured questions that bring clarity to your audience, offers, and positioning.

Phase 2: Finalise Your Business Summary Prompt
You’ll turn those answers into one master prompt that “trains” ChatGPT to know your business.

Phase 3: Your 12-Month Marketing Plan
Using your Business Summary, you’ll create a marketing roadmap: a 12-month plan, a clear monthly focus, and simple weekly actions.

Phase 4: How to Use Your AI Assistant Day-to-Day
You’ll learn how to use your new system every day — creating content, running campaigns, and reflecting on what’s working.

Finally, the Bonus Lesson helps you personalise and expand your Prompt Vault for real marketing content — posts, emails, launches, and more.

Each lesson takes about 30–60 minutes. It’s best to complete one lesson at a time. If you need to pause, finish the step you’re on before taking a break — it makes it much easier to pick back up.

And remember, you can always revisit or re-do a lesson later if you want to refine your answers or shift directions.

Each Lesson Follows a Simple Structure

  • Teaching moment: clear explanations and examples so you understand why it matters.

  • Interactive prompt: you’ll paste a prompt into ChatGPT, which will ask you tailored questions about your business.

  • Refinement step: you’ll review ChatGPT’s draft, give feedback, and refine until it fits your business.

Sometimes ChatGPT will ask similar questions in different ways. That’s intentional — it helps the AI truly understand your business and helps you think more deeply about your answers.

This way, you’re not just “using ChatGPT” — you’re training it while also gaining clarity yourself.

It’s a back-and-forth: you give direction, it drafts, you refine. Simple, structured, and surprisingly powerful.

Let’s Talk About ChatGPT — What It Is and Isn’t

ChatGPT is like hiring an assistant — a very fast, very knowledgeable assistant who never sleeps… but still needs training.

It doesn’t automatically know your business, your voice, or your goals. You have to teach it — just like you would with a real assistant. The good news? It learns instantly once you give it the right information.

It’s not magic. It’s not perfect. Sometimes it gets things wrong or misses the point. That’s completely normal. The key is knowing how to guide it.

👉 Remember: You are the boss. ChatGPT is the assistant.

It’s brilliant at:

  • Organising your thoughts

  • Turning messy notes into clear writing

  • Drafting social media posts, emails, or outlines

  • Summarising ideas

  • Brainstorming examples and variations

It struggles when:

  • You’re vague

  • You ask it to decide for you

  • You expect it to “just know” your business

Example:
❌ “Write a social media post.”
✅ “Write a friendly Instagram caption promoting my handmade candles for Mother’s Day. My tone is playful and eco-conscious. The offer is free shipping this weekend.”

A Few AI Golden Rules

  1. The more context, the better.

  2. Break big tasks into smaller steps.

  3. Refine — don’t start over.

  4. AI organises your ideas; it doesn’t replace them.

  5. You are the expert in your business. AI helps you move faster, not think for you.

Tips for Working With ChatGPT During the Course

  1. If you don’t understand a question, say:
→ “I don’t understand the question, please ask again.”

  2. If you get off topic, say:
→ “Let’s go back to the course.”

  3. If a reply doesn’t feel right, ask ChatGPT to clarify:
→ “Please ask me questions to better understand before drafting an answer.”

These small prompts keep your progress smooth and your AI focused.

Set Up Your Google Docs Template

Your Google Docs Template is your workspace for the entire course. Everything — your business summary, strategy, 12-month plan, and prompt vault — lives in one place, neatly organised by tabs.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Open the template link  From Zero to Strategy Template.

  2. Click File → Make a Copy.
→ Super important: if you don’t make a copy, you won’t be able to edit it.

  3. Rename it to something like:
→ “Your Business Name — Marketing Strategy.”

This document is your home base. You’ll come back to it after every lesson to save what you’ve built.

Set Up Your ChatGPT Workspace

Option 1 — Using ChatGPT Projects (if available)

If you have access to Projects, create one and name it after your business.
Keep all chats from this course inside that Project.

Why this helps:
Projects keep everything neatly organised and allow ChatGPT to carry your business information across chats — so you don’t need to re-explain things every time.

Option 2 — Using a Single Chat

If you don’t have Projects yet, don’t worry — this course works perfectly either way.

Simply open a new chat, name it something like:

“Business Strategy”

Keep all messages from this course inside that same chat until you create your Business Summary Prompt in Phase 2.

If you’re using the free version, ChatGPT won’t remember across chats — but your Business Summary Prompt will solve that later by giving the AI all the key information about your business whenever you start a new conversation.

FAQs

Q: Do I need a separate ChatGPT account for this course?
You can use your regular one. A dedicated business account can help keep things cleaner, but it’s optional.

Q: Do I need ChatGPT Pro?
No. The free version works perfectly. Pro just saves time if you plan to use ChatGPT heavily for marketing.

Q: Should I keep Memory on or off?
If you’re using a dedicated business account, you can leave Memory on — just review it regularly.
If you mix personal and business use, keep Memory off to avoid confusion.
The course works perfectly either way.

Q: Can I take the course on mobile?
Yes! If you’re comfortable switching between apps, it works great.
I recommend downloading the ChatGPT app and the Google Docs app to make it easier to move between lessons and your template.

Final Note Before You Begin

This course is practical — it’s about action, not theory. The more you practice, the smarter your AI assistant will get and the clearer your marketing will feel.

Take it step by step. Give yourself room to learn. And remember — you’re in the driver’s seat. ChatGPT is here to do the heavy lifting.

So grab your coffee (or tea), take a breath, and let’s get started.
